Hi again folks,
Again I'm behind in correspondence. We sadly said good-by to the Bahamas and left Bimini on April Fools day and had a very good crossing to Ft. Lauderdale. We had a good breeze and averaged 6 knots, with a lot of help from the gulf stream. Friday we rented a car and checked into customs and immigration and resupplied our larders. Took a trip to see our friend Tom Read in Margate Fl., and shopping at Sailerman and West Marine.
We spent Easter with good friends and fellow cruisers Barb and Bill Pike(pic4) (Skipper's foster parents) and Jackie and Chris Wenmann (pic3)(Skipper's aunt and uncle) at Las Olas Marina. Tuesday, we said goodbye to Chris and Jackie, as they are headed south after repairs are done, and we headed north with Barb and Bill. We are now in Stuart, FL where Release will stay on a mooring for a month as we are going home to see family. We will have to part company with Barb and Bill and that will be hard, but hope to catch them on the way up. It was hard seeing Cal and Nancy leave earlier, but they have a schedule to meet and therefore must brave the early Spring weather on the water. We however, are not ready for the longjohns on the way north. It was cold and wet enough coming down so will go home and then back to continue our trip.
Will hope that you are all well and see you when we can.
Fair winds, Peace and Terwilliger,
Ken, Francie & Skipper the Bahamian Wonder Dog
Great blog! We just put our I-36, Vittoria, back into the now unfrozen New England waters here in Connecticut/Rhode Island. We will enjoy following your travels. Have a super trip.
