Hi all,
We arrived at Emerald Bay Marina and Resort, about 10 miles north of Georgetown on Great Exuma Island on Fri afternoon, 02/05/2010. Sailed most of the way with a following wind, a little rough but great to be moving. Marina has hot showers, just like home, and laundry and limited internet. Great beaches, a large grocery store and great price. We will be here till Monday anyway and then plan to move to Lee Stocking Cay. Internet will be spotty at best, and we are hoping to stay in touch with you this way. We will still recieve email and will send email when possible. Will load some pictures when we figure out the system.
Cal and Nancy stayed in Georgetown; was time for Cal's bandages to come off and stitches to come out and there is a bit of inflamation. They felt more comfortable nearer to a clinic in case there is a need. As aoon a
s they can they'll catch up. We are still traveling with Bill and Barb Pike on Snowgoose, as well as Jackie and Chris Wenmenn on Highheeeled. Also, there are many boaters in this marina that we have met along the way. Lots of fun!! Even a Super Bowl party planned for this evening - quite a community.

HI back! Yesterday, 2/7/10, we shoveled 24" of snow to get the Scion out of the drive! Rousby Hall Rd. was still only partially plowed at 3PM. Only essential emergency personnel are supposed to come to work today, Monday. This place is really shut down. I think Misty is developing a Skipper complex (won't go in the snow like Skipper on the deck).
ReplyDeleteMom spent the weekend with us. We watched the Super Bowl yesterday, whiskey sours and chili. Great game!
Turtle is as comfortable as can be expected; heater on, bubler in action 12 hrs/day. We lost power for about 2 hours on Friday evening but that was all the excitement we had.
You all look great!!!
Hope your good luck keeps running.

Well, I barely made it back from visiting my sister in Maryland. Flights were being cancelled but I was able to make it there to find 30" of snow that just about disabled them. They were just digging out. We had a great visit and it was so good to see them. Then I had an interesting car ride home from Albany as it was snowing here. Surprise! I sent you an email but then received a notice that you may have not received it as they were having trouble with the site. So great to see your pictures, you look great and Francie even though you had the smaller coconut I was glad to see you were in charge of the bottle! Hope Cal is doing Okay and I can't wait to see you. Love ya and miss you, Laura
