We stayed in Solomons Island a few days and then Francie,Skipper and I left to continue our voyage north to VT. Our first day found us anchored at Sassafras Creek and moving onto Cape May anchoring for the evening. We then sailed to Atlantic City NJ where we managed to run aground and kedged ourselves off. We spent an great evening there and decided to leave at 0330 to make the run to Sandy Hook NJ. It was the wrong day to leave and after a few hours of bucking the weather returned to Atlantic City. We spent the day doing boat chores and left the following day. We departed early and had a great run all the way to the Statue of Liberty, which we anchored behind. Then Sunday we ventured north through the nasties, Which on a Sunday was the best trip through therewe have ever had, through the city and continued north to Hyde Park where we picked up a mooring and Skipper had a great time ashore. From there we were fortunate enough to make it to Castleton on the Hudson where the following day we took the mast down for our trip through the Champlain Canal.
Francie is a very good crane operator and our task was completed in good speed. We then left on a rising tide to Troy and the federal Lock to the Champlain Canal. We managed o make our trip all the way to Lock 8 where there is a great place to stop for the evening. The following day brought us through the locks and to Chipman Point, and our mooring for the rest of the summer. We were there by July 1 and had a great 4th of July at Burr &
Mary's in Danby. This concludes our 2013 trip and we thank you all for following.
