Green Turtle to Home April 2014

I have been a bit lax with my reporting of the rest of the trip home and will try to catch up before starting this falls run south.
We left GreenTurtle Cay and  went to Great Sail  to spend the the night along with many other boats.  The following AM it  was quite a sight to see the multitude of boats heading out.  Some to different parts of Florida and others along with us to West End  for the hop to Palm Beach. We went with Bill & Barb Pike on Wishbone to Palm Beach where we checked in the following day.
Francie and I had an agenda so we were in a hurry to get as far north before renting a car  to get to Granddaughter Hanna's Graduation at Ithaca College mid May.  We left on monday and went outside to Cape Canaveral to anchor for the night.  We stopped in St. Augustine for laundry and supplies as well as hot showers.  From there to Pine Island and an overnight there. We continued to Ferindina Beach  in the rain and as the moorings and dock were filled anchored in the river.  The annual shrimp fest was that weekend and a great party in progress.  We met with Leonard and Lynnea Rosner from Antares  and wandered the streets in the rain  sampling the many delights.  A great many ways of preparing shrimp and other seafood delicacies at the dock area.  The streets of town were closed to traffic  and filled with vendors of every kind.  We  went aboard a shrimp boat and the captain explained  their  process o fishing and keeping the shrimp.  We  also went aboard a Coast Guard Cutter and toured that.
On Sunday, we continued our trek north by going out St Marys inlet and part way up the Georgia coast to Sapelo Inlet and anchored by Black Beard's Island for the night.  The following evening we stayed  just north of Lady's Island Bridge at  Beaufort SC and pushed on to Charleston SC on the next day.  Our stay at Charleston was short s we went out of the harbor with an ebb tide  following the coast to Wynneah Bay  for the evening.  We had great weather  from Ferindina Beach  and made good time. We headed outside to Cape Fear, and know why it is called that. Our sail was great till late afternoon when the winds changed and approaching Cape Fear motor sailing we  came in on an ebb tide along with the current made for an uncomfortable ride.  We still managed to make Southport and Indigo Plantation Marina, our destination, before dark.
The following day was dedicated to getting Release ready to leave for a month and renting a car to drive to our vehicle in Solomon's Island MD at sister Susie's house.  From there to home and a graduation at Ithaca NY.
