5/17/11-5/23/11 Hamton Roads Va. to Pasadena Md

We left Hampton Roads at daylight and pushed against the tide out into the Chesapeake Bay and turned north. We then picked up some happy wind and tide continuing at a great speed. We intended to stop at Deltaville, but arrived there early, so decided to continue to another anchorage. The end result being we arrived in time for dinner at Solomons Island Md. It was a great sail and we made good time. We stayed at Francie's sister Susie's house and had a nice visit with Mom, Susie and Dick and spouses. We planned to borrow a car and return to Vermont for 2 graduations and my reunion. We took the boat to Tony and Lisa Carey's dock in Pasadena Md for the 3 week layover. We were joined by Dick and Nancy and Mom for the 13 hour trip. Mom thought that at 98 she should be able to do what she wanted and handled the trip well. She went for her first motorcycle ride the week before on Mothers Day. You have to get up real early to stay ahead of this lady.
We prepared the boat to leave it for the time away and left on Monday for Vt and graduations.
