Georgetown, Redshank and Long Island 2/15/15

We arrived in G.Town and anchored with the 300 plus other boats.  WE explored a little and did our groceries and filled water tanks.  We were kind of exposed with the storm coming in and decided to move to Red Shank for more protection.  We went with Richard and Dawn from Zama Dawn to a laundry that was new to us.  While there we checked out a local restaurant for some conch fritters.
After the blow on the 17th a bunch of us decided to go to Long Island.  Upon our  arrival at Thompsons Bay we  decided to rent a car with Peter and Janet to explore the island.  What a beautiful Island!!!
One of the lovely churches in  Clarence Town that was built by Father Jerome
From C Town we continued to the southern end of the island to a little park before turning back.
We started back and stopped at Deans Blue hole, the deepest in the world
We then traveled to The north end of Long Island to visit the Christopher Columbus monument in honor of his visit to the Island.  He landed on a lot of these Islands in the Bahamas and they have erected tributes to him in many places.

We were also fortunate that we could celebrate Francie's birthday at Long Island.  One of the other cruisers made a bday cake for her.
