2/20/16 Wendy's visit

We spent most of the week of 2/13/16 at the dock in GTC .  We were going to Marsh Harbor to pick up daughter Wendy on 2/13/16 and because of weather requires a ferry to Treasure Cay and a rental car to Marsh Harbor airport.  We had this plan ready to implement when Wendy text  that she had been bumped from her flight and would be coming the next day. Disappointment and tears flowed in GTC and Hartford CT, but we caught the 0800 ferry to Treasure Cay and the rental car on Sunday 2/14/16.  We arrived at the airport to learn that her flight had been grounded for maintenance issues.   It resumed , but late, so the flight from Miami left without her.  She would be in the following day.   We returned to GTC and took the ferry on Monday and were very happy to see her walk into the airport.  We met with Bill & Eileen (Circe II) for lunch and a welcome drink at Snappas on the water front. Wendy was welcomed at Donny's marina by many of our friends  who had heard of her trials to get here.  Tuesday was New Plymouth GTC and Gillam Beach day where we wandered the beach and returned to Release for Dinner.
Wednesday we sailed to Manjack Cay where we hiked to the ocean beach.  Upon returning we took a dinghy trip through the mangrove swamp finding turtles and a few fish
.  Then we took Skipper ashore on the beach at Crab Cay, where Wendy and Francie located more shells.  Francie made Conch Fritters for dinner and I had made the conch sauce. Wendy chose to sleep on deck and enjoyed this very much.  The following day the girls hiked the beach and I met them at the far end of Manjack with lunch.  We returned to GTC  Thursday evening, and rented a golf cart Friday.
We explored every path we could get the golf cart down, had lunch at the Lizzard Lounge, drinks at the Tipsy Turtle, and visited as much as possible of New Plymouth.  Friday evening we ate at Pineapples and  were treated to music by the Gully Roosters, a local band.  Saturday we boarded the Treasure Cay Ferry for the return to Marsh Harbor Airport to sadly see Wendy off, and then back to GTC.
