Back at GTC 1/-28-16

We are once again in GTC weathering another front and checking with the bank.  Since our last post we have been traveling with Circe II, Bill and Eileen, to tour more of the local Cays. Manjack first with its beautiful beaches and walking paths and a great time for Skipper. We then returned to GTC to avoid another front and go to the local bank to get an advance. It is open from 1000 to 1400 hours on Thursdays.  Unfortunately their credit card reader sent only denied responses to any customers wanting cash for the upcoming week.  A slight glick in the plan, but maybe next Thursday.  We headed  out with Circe II  to do some more exploring on Monday, heading for AllensPensicola Cay, arriving  that afternoon and headed across the cay on a path for the Signing Tree.  We updated the sign we had left last year,  Bill & Eileen  started a new one for Circe II. We wandered the beach and marveled at the huge waves rolling in from the last front. Returning to Release we enjoyed a great happy hour and planned the next day.
Tuesday arrived with a kindly15 kt breeze and a promise of a great sail to Big Hog Cay with only  one tack.  Neither boat had been to Big Hog, so it was a slow watchful journey in close to find an anchorage.  We set the anchor and dinghied to shore with the wind still blowing 15kt, but were able to beach and wander.  We found a few shells and one or two that were not common to us so they came back to the boat.  Our dinghies were in  very shallow water as the tide was ebbing.  We had to drag them a ways before getting in.
After checking the recent weather, we had to find an anchorage with protection from the SE and made a long run back to Manjack.   We arrived after dark and the anchor set well giving us a comfortable night.  We opted for another run into GTC to avoid the next front coming through and to hopefully recharge our cash supply at the bank on Thursday (today).  We walked into town and to the bank only to find the maybe next week the credit card machine would be fixed.  Wonder of all wonders we drifted to 2 Shortys, a local take-a-way  to ponder our next move over a few Kaliks and  some great food.
Yours truly & bride Francie
