10/12/15 Solomon's I MD to Elizabeth City NC

With Ben off to Rochester, Francie and I visited with sister Susie and brother Richard plus spouses. We decided to leave for Old Pt Comfort Va. and arrived there at 2045, another long day.  The following  day we passed Hospital Point 599 nm from Chipman Point  in Orwell Vt and the start of the AICW.  Francie and I continued to Deep Creek Lock where Ben caught up with us.  Francie  traded places with Ben and left for VT.  I and Ben continued to Elizabeth City.  It was Ben's first trip through the Dismal Swamp and quite a bit different than our previous travels. We stopped at the Visitors Center for the night and talked with other boaters.  the next day we made for Elizabeth City  for showers and then some Buffalo Chicken Wings with drafts. This pub also  had Jerked chicken wings  with drafts (of course).  Undecided as of yet which were better, but both held our interest for a while.

                                                                        Ben at the Helm                                                              We later located a draft bar that had specials on Wednesday evening of a new  beer and gave away German beer  glasses  with each draft. We worked at that for a while and called it an evening. We were going for a log run tomorrow.
