11/18/15-12 12-9-15 Southport NC and Home

We left home Nov 17th after a quick trip on the eve of the 16th to Springfield Vt. Daughter Wendy went deer hunting with her car and collected an 8 pt buck, much to her dismay, and totaled her car. She was headed over with friend Erin to our house to say good bye.  They had managed to get the car off the road and call authorities before we arrived there.  We joined them until all the logistics were accomplished, had some green tea, and Wendy convinced us she was as alright as one could be and we should continue with our plans to leave. We left the next morning and stopped in Solomon's I. MD with Francie's sibs and spouses, left the following Am for Southport.  We arrived in time to provision for the next leg of our trip.  That evening we received a call that Wendy had been taken to the hospital, complications had appeared.   The next day we headed back to VT to see how things were.  We stayed until we were comfortable leaving again on Dec 8th.
On Dec 9 we changed oil, reprovisioned, and made ready to  leave the following Am.  We left Southport  with the tide and sailed overnight to Charleston SC, fuel and continued to the North Edesto River inlet and spent the night,168nm.  Friday was another great start with a running tide out of the inlet and an overnight to Cumberland I. and St Marys inlet anchoring there for a day and giving Skipper some quality shore time. Cumberland I. is another one of our favorite stops, even though we didn't stay long.
