12/16/15 Daytona to Stuart FL.

We  took Skipper ashore early and then hauled anchor getting ready for a long run on the AICW.  The tide was good for leaving and we made it through the shallow spots in Ponce Inlet. Our timing was great for the lift bridge  in New Smyrna and the wind helped us along the Mosquito Lagoon even though we were pretty close hauled.  After passing through Haul-over Canal the wind picked up considerable  making the passage uncomfortable with the waves blowing in on us.  As we approached the RR bridge before Titusville they were working on it and after passing through it closed.  This is the first time I have ever seen this bridge closed in our travels here.  The fetch was so much we did not want to stop in Titusville and continued on to Coco to spend the night.  Monday we continued our journey 58.5nm to Ft Pierce before anchoring.  Even though our anchor was set  the tide and current  moved us  and everyone else around so much the one of us was on anchor watch through the night.  We continued to St Lucie Inlet  and turned up the river toward Stuart  bumping a couple of times where the shoaling is. We were running against the tide but making good passage and did not have to wait long for the Roosevelt Bridge.  Approaching the fuel dock for Sunset Bay Marina, we asked for a mooring and were told that #10 had just been vacated if we were quick we could get it.  We picked it up and after a visit from Zama Dawn's crew Dawn & Richard  we elected for a nap to re claim some of our lost sleep.  We will be here through Christmas.
