11/18-- Stuart to Home---RED BIRD

Thursday evening after our cleaning and stowing, with a couple of fingers of rustproofing in a glass, we were relaxing before Skippers evening trip ashore when Francie remarked that we had used the last of the coffee that morning. I and Skipper to shore for a run in the park and walk to Publix for coffee. As we were walking the sidewalk Skipper noticed a sign for MAD MOTORS,a used car dealer. After getting the coffee and a couple of apple turnovers, for what is coffee without a nibble, we stopped at MAD MOTORS as they were closing. The salesman, John, asked if we needed something and I answered, SOME WHEELS. After discussing the amount of expenditure, he said we should ask the the owner. He suggested the red Thunderbird on the display rack. As it was dark, Skipper and I said we would return in the AM with our finance officer (Francie) and check it out. We looked it over on the way out and I was impressed. Friday am, Francie, Skipper, and I went down early as with the rustproofing I had consumed the previous eve, it was possible that I didn't see what I saw. The end result was very satisfying and we purchased RED BIRD. We, along with Lu and Mike, rode around checking it out, and yes replacing a coil to get it ready. We left Saturday morning and it ran fine. We stopped in Brunswick Ga to see Bill and Barb Pike, and out to dinner. Sunday we continued and drove overnight to home in Danby. Tuesday and Wednesday, Francie went shopping and I went deer hunting. On Thursday we had wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with family. We will return to Release after Christmas and continue our journey.
