We left Solomons on an ebb tide and surfed our way with the jib all the way to the Piankatank River and Deltaville Va(N37*32.72 W 76*19.8). The entrance to Deltaville is a little tricky and you need to heed the marks. On leaving in the AM we attemted to cut a new channel, but found that it was easier to follow our inbound track. We once again had a great sail to Norfolk all the way to hospital Point, where the wind died and we had to motor. We decided to try the Dismal Swamp on this trip and we anchored for the night at the first lock. We joined a couple of other boats there, Tropical Breeze, a 38' cat and ChrisJen an O'Day 322. We were held up for 1.5 hours by a dredge, and spent that night at the next lock. We traveled on to Elizabeth City(N 36*17.9 W76*13.1) on sunday the 31st, and had a great time with our new friends Joanne and Dave on Tropical Breeze and Lu and Mike on ChrisJen.
